With the advancement of the Internet and increased awareness and access by the public to this technology, Career and Workforce Education is offering several web-based courses on-line.

These not for credit courses were structured around needs of the non traditional student that want to increase their knowledge level on subject matter pertaining to their present occupation, but can't participate in a traditional classroom environment.

At present, (5) non credit online courses are being offered through the Career and Workforce Education division: WF 1 90 - Applications of Global Positioning Systems in Agriculture WF 2 90 - Applications of GIS Technology in Agriculture Practices WF 3 90 - Applications of Remote Sensing Technology in Agricultural Practices WF 4 90 - Soil Sampling and Analysis in Precision Agriculture WF 5 90 - Variable Rate Technology w/Yield Monitoring & Mapping.

For more information or to register for any of these courses, please visit the MDCC website Rapid Response Support C&WE, in partnership with the Mississippi Department of Economic and Community Development, the Mississippi Security Commission, and other State agencies, assist with quick response on-site services when Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act notices are issued.

The services include, but are not limited to; providing information and promoting the formation of Labor Management Committees to serve as advocates for affected workers. Collecting information on available resources from state and local agencies. Assisting local communities in developing a coordinated rapid response plan. Providing guidance for participants to remediate skills or enroll in MDCC programs, and providing other technical assistance as required. Services are available on-site 12 months a year.
