New Ordinance: City of Moorhead

  • Monday, 10 October 2016 04:19
MEMORANDUM

TO: MDCC Faculty, Staff and Students

FR: Dr. Edward Rice II, Vice President of Student Services

RE: New Ordinance: City of Moorhead

DATE: October 10, 2016

As faculty, staff and students of Mississippi Delta Community College, we should always show respect and kindness to our city neighbors in our daily interactions.

Gathering in front of homes adjacent to campus, however, is disruptive to our neighbors.

The city of Moorhead recently enacted an ordinance prohibiting loitering in public places within the corporate limits. This includes sidewalks in front of private homes.

Violation of this ordinance may result in a fine or arrest.

A smoking area is located within the gated area at the corner of Hwy. 3 and West Cherry Street.

A collaborative relationship between MDCC and the Moorhead community is very important to an overall quality of life for everyone involved.

Thank you in advance for understanding and following the city ordinance.
