Bradley “Willie Boy” Pratt, Class of 1929

During his high school career, Willie Boy was a member of the 1926 Sunflower Agricultural High School Aggie squad that went 9-0 during the regular season and then tied Biloxi to claim the State Championship. During that season, the Aggies held six teams scoreless and allowed on 22 points while scoring 210 points themselves. Pratt also played basketball at SAHS helping the Aggies go 7-11 during the 1926-1927 season. The 1927 Retrospect yearbook noted of Pratt and the other six seniors on that team that. “All showed ability as athletes supreme and made enviable records for themselves.” Willie Boy also helped the 1926 Aggie baseball team go 6-6 with an outstanding .602 batting average and steady fielding. During the same year he was the winner of the low hurdles in the Delta Meet.

While Pratt was at Sunflower Junior College, he played football quarterback as a freshman helping the team go 4-5. He also played guard on the basketball team that went 6-5.

William Pratt went on to Ole Miss where he played quarterback for the Rebels for one season before being injured.
