Welding

Welding is a career course designed to develop skills in various methods of welding. During the first semester, the student is taught  arc welding, oxyacetylene torch and plasma arc cutting.  Classroom instruction is also received in blueprint reading, welding metallurgy, welding theory, types of welding machines, and manual inert gas techniques.

Second semester the students are taught the use of mig welding and tungsten inert gas techniques on both ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Also they are taught flux core arc welding in all positions. At the end of the second semester, skillful students are prepared to take the American Welding Society Code Test for arc welders and seek employment.

Students successfully completing the required course work will be eligible for a Certificate in Welding.
