Username and Password Problems

 
  • Class Sites are not available until the semester begins.  The semester dates are always posted on the msvcc.org page.
  • Username is first initial+last name+last four digits of SS# or student I.D.  Usernames are lower case.  (jbaker1234)  Remember, your first initial is the one you gave when you registered.  
  • Password is the same as the username and is lower case only.  This should be changed as soon as you log into your class.  Passwords are changed under the Tools Button in you course site.  Do not forget your password.  We can not retrieve it once it has been changed.  Write it down and put it in a safe place.
  • If you do forget your password, please let us know.  We can reset it with a new password.  When we do, we will reset your password to the original format.  Change it immediately.
  • If you have trouble logging in using the above instructions, then there are probably some computer problems at your end.
  • If you are using a firewall, then it must be set to allow your computer to communicate with Blackboard.
  • If your security settings in Internet Explorer are set to high then it will not allow the exchange of cookies with Blackboard and will not work.  Check under Tools, Internet Options on your browser.  This is a default problem with IE 5.5 and 6.0 amd must be adjusted.
  • If your computer has been left on for an extended period of time, then simply rebooting it may solve the problem.  If all your resources are tied up, the browsers do not work well.  Restart it.
