HOW TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID AT MDCC

To apply for financial aid at MDCC, the student must:

  1. Submit an application for admission to the college.
  2. File the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) listing the MDCC college code: 002416. This application may be obtained from any high school counselor or from any college financial aid office or the student may apply on the web at www.fafsa.ed.gov . The results of the FAFSA application (filed on-line or paper) will be transmitted electronically to the MDCC Financial Aid Office; therefore, paper results (Student Aid Report – SAR) need not be delivered to the school. Be sure to sign your FAFSA electronically using your PIN#. If you do not have a PIN#, print out your signature page, sign, and mail to the address listed on the signature page.
  3. Complete the MDCC Financial Aid Application by April 1 for priority consideration of institutional and foundation scholarships. Applications for institutional and foundation scholarships received after April 1 will be considered as funds permit.
  4. Gather income documents to support the FAFSA financial information provided and respond, promptly, to any request from the MDCC Office of Financial Aid for such documents.
  5. The MDCC Financial Aid Application and/or the Institutional and Foundation Scholarship Application must be received by April 1 for priority consideration; however, applications for institutional and foundation scholarships received after April 1 will be considered as funds permit. A high school or college transcript must be attached to the scholarship application.
  6. Meet the requirements of the MDCC Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy, if applicant has prior college credit.
