Nathan Zametto attended Sunflower Junior College for one year during the 1954-55 season before transferring on to Northeast Louisiana State College on a football scholarship.

The Greenwood native was an All Big Eight Reserve Squad choice at Greenwood High School his senior year and was also a member of the GHS track team who ran the 220 yard dash and a leg of the 880 yard relay in the State Track Meet.

During his year at Moorhead Zametto played quarterback for the Trojans. SJC was 7-1 during the regular season. The Trojans played Hinds for the State Championship but were defeated. They then lost to Jones in the Laurel Lions Bowl.

Zametto went on to play quarterback and running back at Northeast Louisiana in 1956 and 1957. He was Co-Captain his senior year and won the Best Back Award.

Nathan Zametto went on to work for the Ouachita Parish School Board as a teacher and coach. He received the Coach of the Year Award in 1969 as Head Baseball Coach.
