Curtis Hood, Class of 1967
Induction Class of 2010 Hood was selected to play in the first ever Mississippi Junior College All-Star Game, which was held in Jackson. Hood’s team won the All-Star Game. Hood was also a member of the track team for two years. The 1966 track team, in which Hood threw the discus and shot put, won district honors and the state championship. Hood was selected to the “M” Club. Curtis was offered a Football scholarship to play at Delta State University, but turned the Statesmen down and decided to go into farming with his brothers. Hood was married in 1969 and farmed with one brother near Drew, MS for 3 years then moved to Perthshire, MS and has farmed with 3 other brothers for the past 39 years. |
