|Wayne Hodnett, Class of 1965

Hodnett ran track for the Trojans from 1963-1965 and also played guard his sophomore year at MDJC and received Honorable Mention All State honors with a 6-4 record.
Wayne continued his education at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas where he played two years of football for the Bisons.
Following graduation from Harding, Hodnett traveled to Chinle, Arizona where he taught school for two years on the Navajo reservation. He then worked for JC Penny in Texas before moving to Ft. Smith, Arkansas and joining the National Guard. He also became a recruiter for the Air Force. Hodnett obtained his FFA Commercial Hot Air Balloon Liscense in 1978.
Wayne ended his career as recruiter for the Air Force Reserve in Texas and one of his last recruits was his future wife Estelle. He and Estelle were married in 1992.
Hodnett earned his degree in Social Work from Florida International University in 1996 and he continued his love of ballooning full time over US and Canada until his death in August of 2006.
