About 200 family, friends, and classmates were on hand Saturday night to honor the 2015 inductees of the Mississippi Delta Community College Sports Hall of Fame during their induction ceremony and banquet. The Mississippi Delta Community College Sports Hall of Fame will be inducting six new members Saturday, April 25th, with a banquet and induction ceremony beginning with a reception at 5 p.m. in the J.T. Hall Coliseum.

This year’s athletes include; Hal Bridges - football (1966-1968), Chuck Edwards – basketball (1976-1978), Michelle Mullen - softball (1990-1992), Gail Mullen Sims - Softball (1990-1992), and Matthew Duff - baseball (1993-1995). This year’s Jimmy Bellipanni Distinguished Trojan recipient will be long-time MDCC maintenance technician and Moorhead native Mac Sheffield.

Matthew Duff, former Major League pitcher with the St. Louis Cardinals, is now and outdoor personality and the co-host of the television show Major League Bowhunter on the Sportsman Channel along with former major league standouts Jeff Danker and Chipper Jones. Other TV shows Duff has hosted include Buck Commander and Friends of the NRA with his wife, world-wide women's shooting champion, Jessie Duff.

Tickets for the banquet and induction ceremony are $20 per person ($10 for children 12 and under) and may be ordered by mail from the MDCC Athletic Director, P.O. Box 668, Moorhead, MS 38761. Reservations may be made by calling 662-246-6478 or 246-6471 or 662-207-0266. The deadline for ordering is April 20th and reservations are required to attend. MDCC SPORTS HALL OF FAME members for 2014 were inducted during a banquet Saturday night at the J.T. Hall Coliseum. They are (l. to r.) Dr. Reagan Ford (football, baseball 1966-68) of Starkville, Kevin Rogers (baseball 1986-88) of Cleveland, Michel DeJean (baseball 1988-90) of Monroe, LA, Pat Hare (basketball, tennis, track 1979-81) of Aiken, NC, and Bethe Williams Becker (Jimmy Bellipanni Distinguished Trojan Award) of Greenwood.

Dr. Ford is originally from Drew.

Pat Hare is originally from Greenwood and worked for a number of years in Greenville.
