Annual MDCC Sports Hall of Fame Banquet draws near

The Mississippi Delta Community College Sports Hall of Fame will be inducting seven new members Saturday, April 22 with a banquet and induction ceremony beginning with a social at 4 p.m. in the J.T. Hall Coliseum.

This year’s inductees include; Edmond Donald - football (1981-83), Scott Caldwell – basketball (1989-91), Tony Hancock - baseball (1990-1992), Amber Rose Stack – basketball and softball (1991-1993), Bryan Singleton - football (1992-1994), Domino Bellipanni – athletic trainer and athletic director (1986-2016). This year’s Jimmy Bellipanni Distinguished Trojan recipient will be long-time MDCC supporter and former instructor Brenda Grubb.

Joel Henderson will be MDCC’s 2017 inductee into the MACJC Sports Hall of Fame. Henderson played football and baseball for the Trojans from 1967-69.

The annual MDCC Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, April 21 at the Indianola Country Club. The format is a four-man scramble. Tee time is set for 12:15 with lunch being served from 11:15 to noon. The deadline to enter is April 7. The entry fee is $100 per person. See contact information below to register.
