Jenni Hargett, center, received a $500 award from Dr. Rosemary Lamb, left, and a certificate from Allyson Lofton for writing the winning proposal for MDCC’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).

The college’s QEP will seek to improve the interactions advisors and counselors have between students in order for them to understand the importance of setting and achieving their academic and career goals.

The plan will be based on the premise that students who are actively involved in their education will be more successful throughout their educational careers and beyond.

MDCC will be using an online management system along with an online early alert system to monitor students. This helps notify advisors and counselors of students who are at risk of dropping out.

“I want to congratulate Jenni Hargett for winning the QEP proposal contest and I look forward to seeing it become a reality at MDCC in the near future,” says Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness Rosemary Lamb, Ph.D.
