Attendance Policies & Requirements

MDCC Distance Learning courses provide you with flexibility regarding when, where and how much time you spend on your classes each week. Having this flexibility makes it very important for you to be able to direct your own studies and to ensure that you have enough time to get the most out of them.

Think about your current schedule and when you will find the time to study.

Attendance and participation on a regular basis is expected of on-line students.  If a student is inactive for two (2) consecutive weeks, the instructor will consider the student inactive and request that the student be withdrawn for lack of participation( cut out ).  Attendance is documented by the BlackBoard software and the instructor also keeps a record of participation and work submissions.

If a student does not login within the first 2 weeks of the VCC semester, the instructor will consider the student as a “No Show” and request that the student be withdrawn as never attended (cut out).

Withdrawal instructions for MDCC registered students are published on this web site.  Online students must follow these withdrawal procedures
