MOORHEAD, MS – The Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) released its 2015-16 Academic All-State Teams, and Mississippi Delta Community College took the top spot in two sports.

The Trojan baseball team earned Academic All-State status sporting a 3.40 grade point average (GPA), meaning they had the highest out of all the baseball programs in the conference. Women’s basketball also captured the Academic All-State award with a 3.23 GPA.

“I’m always proud of how our athletes perform in their respected sports, but I’m prouder of their performance in the classroom because it is most important,” says Athletic Director Domino Bellipanni.

Students receiving Exemplary Academic Achievement awards are Clay LaBeff (Baseball), Lee Quates (Baseball), Kenya Arnold (Women’s Basketball) and Taylor Latham (Softball).
