Walden Named VP of Instruction

Carol Walden, Vice President of Instruction

Carol Walden has been named Vice President of Instruction for Mississippi Delta Community College in Moorhead, Miss. Walden, who most recently served as Interim Vice President following the retirement of Magdalene Abraham, has 43 years of professional experience in the educational system.

“Mrs. Walden’s experience is and will continue to be a tremendous asset to the college,” says President Nabors. Walden has worked at MDCC for 27 years as a business instructor, and has supervised the college’s business education department as division chair since 2000. She plans to continue teaching two courses per semester while serving as vice president.

“I absolutely love MDCC,” says Walden. “It’s such a great family atmosphere and a great place to work. The College is committed to providing the best educational opportunities to our community and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it.”

Walden holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education from Mississippi State University and a Master of Education Degree from Delta State University. Prior to MDCC, she taught at Indianola Academy for 16 years.

“I appreciate the confidence Dr. Nabors has placed in me,” says Walden. “I’ve received so much support from him, Dr. Charlie Barnett, and the faculty and staff during my time as interim.”

Walden is married to Buddy Walden and they reside in Indianola. Buddy retired from MDCC after 27 years, serving as Assistant Dean of Students in addition to coaching softball and basketball. The couple has two adult children and four grandchildren.
