Hill credits MDCC for career path choice.

More often than not, students enter college not knowing what they want to do in life or what career path to choose.

This was true for now sophomore Walt Hill. The Indianola native started the fall of 2015 at Mississippi Delta enrolled in the Computer Networking Program.

He found his niche in the spring of 2016 when he began taking core classes. Hill was taking a photography course under instructor Josh Vincent on the Moorhead campus when he realized he was pretty good at it, and it was something he wanted to do full-time.

He is on track to gradate May 2017 with his associate’s degree and will continue his education at Mississippi State University to pursue an art degree with a concentration in photography. His career goals are to one day open his own photography company.

Hill is also the filmer for the MDCC football team and says his experiences on the field and in the classroom have helped him make the correct career choice and prepared him for the next step.

“MDCC has helped me learn how to study and filming with the football team has taught me responsibility,” says Hill. “This school is a great place to get your core classes because the instructors are very nice and helpful.”
