Jordan named Humanities Teacher of the Year

jordan head shotMississippi Delta Community College psychology instructor Sheba Jordan, of Greenville, was recently recognized as MDCC’s 2016 Humanities Teacher of the Year.

During the Nov. 16 awards ceremony on the Moorhead campus, Jordan presented, “Humanities: Socio-Cultural Theory.” She will also be honored at the Mississippi Humanities Council Awards Banquet in Jackson in February of 2017.

Jordan has been an employee at MDCC for three years. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and a master’s from William Carey University. She also attended Mississippi State University where she received her doctorate degree. She and her husband, Dwayne have a 6-year-old son named DJ.

October is Arts and Humanities Month, proclaimed annually by the President and Governor. To honor the event, the President or appropriate dean of each institution of higher learning in the state nominates a faculty member for the Humanities Teacher Award.
