Three PTK students recognized state-wide

Three MDCC students were honored at the state level for their involvement in Phi Theta Kappa. Molly Upchurch, a member of the Zeta Zeta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa on the Moorhead campus, was selected for the Mississippi All-American Second Team. She received a $1,000 scholarship along with this award.

Hayden Williams and Jeremy Govan, members of the Beta Rho Omicron chapter on the GHEC campus, were also recipients of the All-Mississippi Academic team scholarships. Williams was selected to the 2017 First Team and received a $2,000 scholarship, and Govan was selected for Second Team honors and received a $1,500 scholarship, which are the top two honors given. Governor Phil Bryant addressed all the honorees, their parents, advisors, and school administrators during the awards luncheon.
