In the spring of 2012, the National Organization for Associate Degree Nursing approved the formation of a national honor society for Associate Degree Nursing programs, Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honor Society.

Mississippi Delta Community College was chartered as the Alpha Iota Chapter, and in the spring of 2013, inducted the first students into the chapter. To be considered for membership, the student must have attained a 3.0 overall GPA, maintained a 3.0 GPA in all nursing courses, and demonstrated conduct on campus and in the clinical areas that reflects integrity and professionalism. Participation in the nursing honor society gives recognition for academic excellence, potential scholarships for continued education, and quality addition to professional portfolio.
