Mississippi Delta Community College’s Art Department will participate in the Greenville Arts Council’s first gallery exhibit of 2018 with its opening reception Friday, Jan. 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Roger D. Malkin Gallery at E.E. Bass Cultural Arts Center.

Various ceramic pieces, drawings and paintings by Nancy Stone-Streett, Joshua Vincent and Jennifer Pieralisi Woodard will be on display and remain in the gallery for viewing until Feb. 23.

Vincent honored at ceremony

Josh VincentMOORHEAD – Mississippi Delta Community College art instructor Josh Vincent of Indianola, Miss., was recently recognized as MDCC’s 2017 Humanities Teacher of the Year.

On Oct. 16, Vincent will be honored during an awards ceremony on the Moorhead, Miss., campus and present, “Twerking with Technology, Millennials in the Arts.” He will also be honored at the Mississippi Humanities Council Awards Banquet in Jackson in February of 2018.

Vincent earned his bachelor’s degree from Delta State University and a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina. He and his wife, Cat, have one daughter, Olivie.

October is Arts and Humanities Month, proclaimed annually by the President and Governor. To honor the event, the President or appropriate dean of each institution of higher learning in the state nominates a faculty member for the Humanities Teacher Award.
