MDCC presidential search suspended

MOORHEAD, MISSISSIPI – MDCC Board President Paula Sykes announced today, that due to the recent fire, the board of trustees voted to suspend the current presidential search and that current president Dr. Larry Nabors has agreed to continue as President at MDCC until July 1, 2019. “The board deeply appreciates President Nabors’ willingness to extend his service to the college to address our recent destruction to the administration building” said Sykes. “We expect to reopen our search in the fall of 2018.”

Mississippi Delta Community College, of Moorhead, Mississippi, will receive bids for the MDCC Campus Streetscape Project, Base Repair, Level and Overlay of Multiple Streets for a total project length of 0.968 miles, LPA Project No. STP-0166-00(007) LPA FMS No. 106876-701000 no later than 10:00 A.M., Local Time, Thursday , January 4, 2018 at the MDCC Board Room located in the Stauffer-Wood Administration Building, at 538 Moorhead Belzoni Road, Moorhead, Mississippi 38761. 2016 Report Card available

MDCC Hazard Mitigation Plan Update Review

The public is invited to participate in a review of Mississippi Delta Community College’s (MDCC) Hazard Mitigation Plan Update.

A meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 9, 2017 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am in the Conference Room of the Vandiver Student Union located on the Mississippi Delta Community College Moorhead Campus, Highway 3 & Lucas Street, Moorhead, MS 38761.

Copies of the plan will be available at the meeting. In addition, the public may view the plan online by visiting the Hazard Mitigation Plan page on the MDCC website (click here).

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) completed an initial State review of the draft plan and coordinated with MDCC and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). FEMA completed a review of the draft plan for compliance with the Federal hazard mitigation planning requirements. FEMA determined that the Mississippi Delta Community College Hazard Mitigation Plan Update is compliant with Federal requirements, subject to formal community adoption.
