Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC) is a public two-year college and member of the MS Community College System. MDCC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). SACSCOC is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states. In order to maintain its membership with SACSCOC, MDCC must develop, implement, and complete a Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP).

MDCC’s current QEP is titled “Advising: Go with the Flow”. The key purpose of Advising: Go with the Flow is to change our current method of advising from a prescriptive model of advising in which students basically see any available advisors to get schedules for the upcoming semester(s) to a developmental model of advising in which students meet with assigned advisors for proper advising /scheduling throughout their enrollments at MDCC. In addition, a revised freshmen student orientation will be implemented during the summer prior to the students’ first semesters at MDCC.
