MDCC announces Carla Johnson as new HR Director

Mississippi Delta Community College announces that Carla Johnson will be joining its team as human resources director effective January 2020. Johnson comes to MDCC from Delta State University where she held various positions throughout her 20 years at the university, most recently as the Director of Graduate Business and Aviation Programs and Coordinator of the Magellan Exchange Program.

“I want to thank Mississippi Delta Community College for selecting me for this position,” stated Johnson. “I am elated to have been afforded the opportunity to join the MDCC family.” Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in office administration from Mississippi Valley State University and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from Delta State University.

“I’m very proud to welcome Mrs. Carla Johnson to the Administrative Services team,” stated Steven J. Jones, vice president of administrative services. “The main goal of the Office of Human Resources at MDCC is to ensure the institution is able to achieve success through its employees, and I strongly believe that Ms. Johnson will work to advance the Office of Human Resources on all levels to ensure we consistently meet our goal.”

Johnson lives in Shelby, MS with her two children Frederica and Fredrick Haywood, Jr. and a grandson, Aidyn Lee Hill. She is originally a native of Mound Bayou, MS where she attended John F. Kennedy Memorial High School.
