MOORHEAD, MS (Sept. 8, 2025) – Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC) is proud to announce a 4% overall enrollment increase for Fall 2025, marking the institution’s highest reported preliminary headcount (2,134) and full-time equivalent (1,804) since 2019, prior to the pandemic.

This enrollment milestone reflects broad growth across the college, including a 50% increase in Middle College enrollment, a 24% increase in transfer students, and a 10% increase in dual enrollment participation. MDCC’s Greenville Higher Education Center (GHEC) also saw a 33% increase, underscoring the expanding demand for educational access across the Delta.

“This achievement is more than a number—it is a reflection of the collective commitment, creativity, and strategic vision that defines who we are,” said MDCC President Dr. Steven Jones. “Under the banner ‘Forward Together,’ MDCC continues to demonstrate what is possible when we embrace bold, innovative, and strategic approaches to recruitment and student success.”

Dr. Valarie Morgan, Vice President of Instruction and Accreditation/Provost, credited MDCC’s community partnerships and dedicated faculty and staff for driving the momentum. “This enrollment increase reflects the dedication of our faculty and staff, and the growing confidence our community has in the transformative power of education at MDCC,” she said. “We’re especially proud of the momentum in Middle College, the GHEC, and among our transfer students, each representing a vital part of our mission to serve and uplift the Delta. The future of MDCC is bright!”

Dr. Ben Cloyd, Vice President of Enrollment Management, emphasized the collective effort behind the success: “MDCC has our best enrollment since Fall of 2019—it’s a great day to be an MDCC Trojan! Hats off to every member of the enrollment team for their tireless, collective effort and to the entire Trojan community for helping students find their best path in life here at MDCC.”

Jay Gary, Dean of Enrollment Management, also highlighted the importance of teamwork: “The enrollment rise at MDCC reflects both the strengths of our programs and the commitment to our students. The credit for growth belongs to the entire faculty and staff of MDCC for their cohesive efforts, led by our admissions director Valerie Wilbert. Our growth in enrollment is a sign of progress and promise for our community.”

Dr. Jones also recognized the tireless work of MDCC’s enrollment, instruction, and student services teams. “At MDCC, we believe that everyone is a recruiter, and this increase proves the truth of that belief. Each conversation, each act of service, and each moment of support helps move our students—and our college—forward. We are not standing still—we are moving Forward Together.”
