Phi Theta Kappa Zeta Zeta Inducts New Members
MOORHEAD, Miss. (Feb. 15, 2024) – On February 13, the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Zeta Zeta Chapter of Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC) inducted new members for the 2024 spring semester.
“PTK induction ceremonies are a time for celebration! The members of the Zeta Zeta Chapter of MDCC exemplify dedication, commitment and perseverance,” said Speech Instructor and Zeta Zeta Advisor Nicole Andrews. “Our students have shown the ability to excel in their academic studies, and I have no doubt that they will exceed our expectations and accomplish great things in their future.”
The ceremony took place in the Yeates Fine Arts Auditorium on the MDCC Moorhead campus. A welcome was given by MDCC Student Government Association President Eugene Pearson. The attendees were then addressed by MDCC President Dr. Tyrone Jackson.
Jay Gary was the guest speaker for the event. Jay Gary is the dean of enrollment management at Mississippi Delta Community College.
Following Jay Gary; Andrews, Zeta Zeta Advisor Dr. Charnecca Barnes, Vice President Samantha Barham, Secretary Gabbryielle Jackson and Member Zachary Skelton inducted the newest members into PTK ZZ.

After the induction, Vice President of Instruction Teresa Webster gave closing remarks.
In order to be considered for the PTK Zeta Zeta Chapter, students must meet several qualifications:
Be a full-time student enrolled in an approved program of study and have completed one or more semesters with at least fifteen academic/technical hours.
As a freshman, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better on fifteen semester hours during the qualifying semester.
As a sophomore, have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better on at least thirty semester hours.
Transfer students must complete fifteen semester hours through Mississippi Delta Community College before being considered for membership.
Exhibit superior scholarship and leadership and show evidence of good character.
