Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III


The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III (HEERF III) was authorized by the American Rescue Plan (ARP) and signed into law on March 11, 2021. An allocation has been provided to MDCC for awarding financial aid grants to students.

Mississippi Delta Community College students may be eligible to receive grant funds through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds III (HEERF III) to help cover their student account balance for the Fall 2021 semester. These emergency grants require no repayment.
 
The Fall 2021 HEERF III grant application will be open October 1 - 15, 2021.


ELIGIBILITY

You can apply for HEERF III (Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds III) grant funds at MDCC if:

  • you have been affected by COVID-19 and/or have emergency costs such as tuition, food, housing, healthcare or childcare.
  • you have a completed 2021-2022 FAFSA on file at MDCC.
  • you have an account balance with MDCC for the Fall 2021 semester. 

Students with exceptional need will be considered first. The number of students who can be awarded is subject to the availability of funds. Funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis until allocated funds are distributed. 


ACCESSING THE APPLICATION

The HEERF III grant application is accessed through the MyDelta portal. Inside MyDelta there is a link for the Fall 2021 application. The grant application will open October 1, 2021 and will close October 15, 2021.
