Aviation Maintenance Training

Aviation Application


Carpentry

Dates:   January 16, 2024-April 25, 2024

 

Training topics include, but are not limited to, Safety Measures, Builder Math, Wall/Roof Framing, Siding/Roofing Installation, Proper use of hand tools, & Installing windows/doors. This class will meet on Tuesday & Thursday nights 6 p.m. 9 p.m.

Commercial Driver’s License Training (CDL) Permit Prep Class

Dates:  January 23, 2024-February 22, 2024
   April 16, 2024-May 16, 2024

Five-week prep course. Prep topics will include, but are not limited to: Driving Safety, Transporting Cargo/Passengers Safely, Air Brakes, Combination Vehicles, Hazardous materials, Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection, & Basic Vehicle Control Skills Test. This class will meet on Tuesday & Thursday nights     6 p.m.  to 9 p.m.

Commercial Truck Driving

Dates:  January 17, 2024-March 9, 2024
  April 1, 2024-May 25, 2024

Eight-week driving course. Trainee will learn how to properly operate the 18 Wheel Semi Trailer and prepare for testing to obtain CDL Class A License. Skills to be learned will include, but are not limited to, routine driving, DOT regulations, backing skills, parallel parking, how to review maps and fill out log books, driving maneuvers as well as general driving behavior. This class will meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights 5:00 pm - 9:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Electrical

Dates:  January 22, 2024-May 1, 2024

This is a 14-week class where the student will learn basic electrical skills in either Motor Control or Residential. This class will meet on Monday & Wednesday nights from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Electrical Utility Lineman Program

Date: January 8, 2024-May 2, 2024
Registration:  October 2, 2023-November 2, 2023 

Qualified workers in this field are in demand. This 16-week, hands-on course is taught by instructors with lineman experience and specialized education.

Lineman Application


Emergency Medical Technician 

Dates:  January 10, 2024

The EMT program provides classroom and laboratory instruction for entry level Emergency Medical Technicians following the current National DOT curriculum. Emergency Medical Technician-Basic is an instructional program that prepares individuals to function in the pre-hospital environment. The EMT-Basic program provides instruction in basic life support care of sick and injured persons. This includes airway assessment, communications, documentation, general pharmacology, hemorrhage control, ambulance operations, and splinting of adult, pediatric, and infant patients; and special care patients exposed to heat, cold, radiation, or contagious disease.  This class will meet Wednesdays 10am-5pm.

A certificate of completion will be awarded to those who satisfactory complete the EMT curriculum. Upon successful completion of the course, students are eligible to sit for the National Registry for Emergency Medical Technicians Basic Testing.

Fiber Optic Training

Dates:   January 8, 2024-April 25, 2024

This 15-week, hands-on course is taught by instructors with fiber experience and specialized education. Qualified workers in this field are in high demand.  Trainee will receive a CDL Class A License upon completion.  This class will meet Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 4 pm.

HVAC

Dates: January 16, 2024-April 24, 2024    

Training topics include: workplace ethics, theory of heat, safety, tools, equipment and shop practices, and prep for EPA certification. This class will meet 3 nights a week 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Medical Administrative Assistant

Date:  January 9, 2024-May 2, 2024

Learn how to keep a physician’s office or clinic running efficiently in this 15 week class. Medical Administrative Assistant will maintain patient’s records; coordinate collection and preparation of operating reports such as time and attendance. This class will meet Tuesday and Thursday nights    6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Medical Coding

Date: January 9, 2024-May 2, 2024
Registration:  November 1, 2023

This 16-week course introduces students to the fundamentals of medical coding. This class will teach you the guidelines to use the appropriate codes and how to utilize your coding books. This class is not for college credit. This class will meet Tuesday and Thursday nights 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

PRE-REQUISITE:  Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminology.

Pharmacy Technician

Date:  January 8, 2024-May 2, 2024

Pharmacy Technicians are sought-after professionals in pharmacies located in hospitals, drug stores, doctors’ offices and grocery stores. This 16-week class will prepare you to take the Pharmacy Technician certification exam, ExCPT.

Plumbing

Dates: January 23, 2024-April 18, 2024
Registration: November 1, 2023

Training topics include: Workplace ethics, 101 Plumbing, safety, tools.  Class meets 3 nights a week; 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Capps Center.

Welding

Dates:  January 16, 2024-May 23, 2024
Registration starts:  November 1, 2023

Learn about basic MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SMAW welding and safe work practices used at local industries.  This class will meet Monday - Thursday nights 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Cost: $800 (includes welding tool kit to keep at the end of training)

Career Readiness Certificate (CRC)

Daily throughout the Delta
Three WorkKeys assessments resulting in a nationally recognized credential that gives employers and job-seekers a standard measure of workplace skills. This certificate will show the employer you will be easy to train for on-the-job skills.

There is no fee to test with a valid MS picture ID.
